Sprayed foam insulation has been used to insulate tanks in Colorado, Wyoming, and Western Kansas for over 30 years.
Water tanks for potable water or fire protection are often insulated to resist freezing temperatures.
Oil tanks are typically insulated with one to four inches of sprayed polyurethane foam to help maintain lower viscosities at elevated temperature. The supply piping can also be sprayed as well as below grade piping.
Processing tanks often needed to maintain h igh or low temperatures and sprayed polyurethane foam offers the best option. Applications include cryogenic tanks, slurry tanks, sugar processing tanks, grain bins, and fat tanks.
Wine tanks are typically insulated with two to four inches of foam to maintain continuous temperatures.
